About us
We are the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, a Catholic congregation of women founded in 1902 in Quebec, Canada, with our motherhouse in Outremont, Montreal. The congregation was begun by Délia Tétreault, who, despite fragile health that prevented her from going to distant missions herself, felt called to offer her life for the universal Church by forming missionary sisters.
Today, we serve in education and health, catechesis, pastoral and youth ministry, visiting the sick, caring for orphans, supporting women and families, and promoting missionary awareness in the Church. In each place, we desire to draw close to those who are poor, forgotten, or vulnerable, so that, through concrete gestures of service and presence, our brothers and sisters may experience God’s care and tenderness.
